Urbanisation seems to be the future of human being. Cities are growing-up in terms of economy and demography. According to United Nations statistics, the 21st century should see the rate of urban population climbing-up to 80%. Public transports represent the cities nervous sytem. They are the critical point to the evolution.
The city of Paris -14 000 000 people Paris and suburbs- like many other megapoles has been extended by a suburbian growth. Because of a real estate crisis, « franciliens » live far away from their work, with a daily average transports time of two hours.
Public transports are managed by two companies. The RATP –Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens- is in charge of the inside Paris network. The french company SNCF –Société Nationale des Chemins de Fers- is in charge of the suburbian railway network, who crosses or not Paris. 750 000 000 people use the SNCF every year. Because of the strategic decisions on long distance TGV –Train à Grande Vitesse- local railways are going worst day after day. Investments have decreased with a lack on the sense of the famous french public services.
The following work is a glimpse on daily life and in the Paris public transports network.
